Scanning Slides and Negatives

Our slide & negative scanning service converts your images to digital files (supplied on CD or DVD) so that you can store, edit, duplicate, email and/or print the pictures.

If any images are too dark or too light, we will adjust the brightness.  We will also use our judgement to adjust the colours to a what we consider a satisfactory balance (where possible).    We remove any black borders introduced by the scanning process.

For 35mm slides we offer two levels of service:

Standard Service - 35p per slide:  Slides are gently cleaned with compressed air and scanned at 1350 dpi (dots per inch) producing a jpg file approximately 2000 x 1350 pixels.

This is suitable for slideshows and prints up to approximately 8" X 6".

High Resolution - 45p per slide  This service offers a higher resolution (4000 dpi) producing a jpg file approximately 6000 x 4000 pixels.

This is suitable professional and enthusiasts who wish to manipulate the images in a program such as Adobe Photoshop and/or print larger images.   

The high resolution service also offers the option of uncompressed "tif" files in addition to the normal jpg files at an extra cost of 5p per slide.

Please note that there is a minimum order of £10 + post & packing for slide scanning.

Negative Scanning:

35mm neg to jpg file - 35p each

120 neg to jpg file - 65p each

5”x4” neg to jpg file - £2.50 each

For TIF files as well as jpg add 5p per image

We normally complete your order within 7 days of receipt.

* When calculating the weight of the return parcel, use the kitchen scales to find the total weight of the parcel you are sending to us (including the packing materials).
